Terms & Conditions

We want you to feel free, but there are a few rules which are in place for your safety.

You will be required to sign a full Booking Agreement with Rockport Barn Events Incorporated.

Payment terms:

The hire fee of $3000+HST CAD for 2019 dates and $4000+HST for 2020 dates is to be made in three or four payments:

  1. At the time of booking, $1,000+HST ($1,130) is due. This secures your date. This is not refundable, however you can transfer your booking to another available date.

  2. Six months before your event date, a further payment of $1,000+HST ($1,130) is due. This is not refundable or transferable. If your event date is within six months of the date you confirmed your booking, this second payment is due immediately.

  3. For 2020 dates, a further payment of $1000+HST ($1,130) is due at a time that is convenient for you, but must be paid no later than one month before your event date. We know that paying for large events can be a strain, so we will leave this payment for you to make at your discretion.

  4. One month before event date, the final payment of $1,000+HST ($1,130) is due. This is not refundable or transferable.

The $1000 security deposit is due by cheque the week of your event. Rockport Barn Events Inc. reserves the right to refuse deliveries to site if the security deposit has not been received.

Events larger than 100 people are possible upon request and are applicable to a surcharge of $500.

Payments are preferred by e-transfer, with reference to your name and date of your wedding (example: Kate and Rob May 18 2019).

Upon payment of the first instalment, you will be sent a Booking Agreement, which will need to be signed and returned before the second payment becomes due.

In compliance with the Ontario Food Premises Regulation, Section 32 states: “Every operator of a food service premises shall ensure that there is at least one food handler or supervisor on the premises who has completed food handler training during every hour in which the premises is operating.”

This requirement means:

  • A food handler or supervisor with a valid food handlers certificate must be on site at all times that the businesses is operating (not just the hours you are open to the public, but also any time you prepare food).

  • You likely will need to have more than one food handler or supervisor certified to ensure coverage of all shifts.

  • Proof of certification must be available on site for your public health inspector to review.

  • This requirement is an important strategy to ensure food is handled safely, and non- compliance is considered a critical infraction.

  • A public health inspector may issue a ticket with a set fine of $305.00, if during the inspection this requirement is not met.

Rockport Barn Events Inc. has achieved the necessary certification in food handling, so is required by law to supervise the preparation and serving of food during your event if you are catering the event yourself. If you hire a caterer who does not comply with this regulation, you will be liable for the fine if/when inspected by an official.
